dairy5 Posted August 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Anyone have experience with renting a van from Budget at FLL and dropping it off at Port of Miami Shuttle Cruise ship Budget destination? Do they provide a shuttle to the port? It has the same address as a previous one that we have used that does not provide shuttle. Thanks for any help. dairy5 Posted August 4, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Thanks Keith, that was what I was afraid of, it is very deceiving.
JohninDC Posted August 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Taxi from there to POM should be about $12-13 -- if you found a good deal on the van rental I would stick with it even without the port shuttle.
MADflyer Posted August 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2014 You can try to get on the shuttle from the Courtyard by Marriott, one block away. I think they charge only $5 and leave on the half-hour. They add a second van if the first one fills up. You have to book with the bellman there. Otherwise as stated taxi is only $10 or so. You could drop off everyone at the terminal after re-fueling the car at the BP at 1000 Biscayne Blvd right near the port entrance before proceeding over to the joint Avis/Budget drop-off. I have returned there on 3 occasions and was surprised when read posts here that they had added a shuttle, as they did not seem to indicate that was in the plans when I was there last. Grandmaanne7 Posted August 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I just spoke with Budget as we are returning a car at the POM shuttle location in February. I was assured that we will be shuttled to the ship free of charge. I was told that as long as we booked to return to P2F location, this will happen. I guess we'll see.... Grandmaanne7 Posted March 22, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 22, 2015 How did your rental return work for you? Thanks Worked great! A bit of a wait (approximately 10 minutes) because there were 7 ships in port but the service was efficient and friendly. Nice clean shuttle bus. Grandmaanne7 Posted March 26, 2015 #17 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Yes, Nanookz is correct. There were 2 very close to each other. Price was comparable to others stations in the area.
Cruiser Who Knows Nothing Posted March 26, 2015 #18 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Budget and Avis are in the same building. Make sure you drop off at the 2nd Street location. It has a shuttle.
