BABBY Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Hi can anyone tell me if there is a disadvantage booking the saver fare? and also what the difference is between this ship and say the independence of the seas rci? as that's the only one my son has done with his girlfriend and they saw this one for a lot lower and thought about it for there honeymoon but wondered if would be suitable for their age and whether the food is as good as on royal carribean? many thanks in advance
richleeds Posted August 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2014 For their honeymoon they will probably find Ventura a bit old and subdued, certainly compared to RCCL. Food similar on both but Ventura is very British, carvery with gravy available at lunch, beef wellington, tomato soup etc - you may see this as a positive or negative, we see it as a negative. I would think for a honeymoon and some lively evenings into the night (if thats their thing) they would be better sticking with RCCL.

Food is good on both but definately British on P&O but service IMO way better on RCI. Average age on Ventura will be a bit higher than Indy. Dress code adhered to more on P&O. Also P&O is more reserved with less bells and whistles than RCI, e.g. No ice skating rink, rock climbing, golf etc. Drinks cheaper on P&O. Its closer to a traditional cruise than Indy. Having said that weve enjoyed both ships.
