Their new packages include unlimited beverages, six bottles of water, shore excursion credits, photos, one paid restaurant visit per night, internet access up to 4 hours and gratuities.

So how much is that worth to you? Think Carnival will give it a shot?

$900 for a 7 night sounds pretty steep for the Carnival demographic. Carnival is more likely to try to get you on board for $29.95 and then pile on with a fee for every little thing.

The "unlimited beverages" which only limits water makes me chuckle. Gives a window into what our priorities are, lol!

Haha, I was thinking the same thing!

Is that for a balcony? I'm in. That's cheap!!!I'm sure it's an inside tho.

I saw a similar comment on another board. I don't get it. Last cruise I paid for: (1) adult beverages for my wife and I and sodas for our son; (2) Camp Carnival fee after 10:00 pm; (3) Casino losses; and (4) Gratuities.

We used the MDR, Lido buffet, tea time, room service, mini-golf, ping pong, water works, main pool, gym, various public areas of the ship, Camp Carnival before 10:00 pm, shows, comedy club, disco, and piano bar all for no additional charge. I'm sure I forgot other included things.

What does Carnival nickle-and-dime that other mass market brand's don't?

$900/per person plus base cruise fair, taxes, fees, gratuities.

I'll pass

If you purchase cheers for a seven day you are looking at $800 for two people, one night at the steakhouse for two $75. Then excursion credits and various other things it is very competitive.

This program probably wouldn't work on Carnival because Carnival doesn't have the speciality restaurant variety like NCL has. Many Carnival ships don't have any specialty rest. and most only have 1. The only ships that have multiple specialty rest. are the Legend (Steakhouse, Bonsai), Magic (Steakhouse, Cucina), Breeze (Steakhouse, Cucina, Bonsai), and Sunshine (Steakhouse, Cucina, JiJi, and Bonsai).

Remember the My Awesome Bar Package? The advertisement stated unlimited alcoholic beverages, but chose to limit it to 15 on select ships?

As long as it is just an option, then I think it is fine. It would be good for plenty of people, but not for those who dont drink much alchohol, or go to the upcharge restaurants. I think NCL is good at offering options, but only time will tell if this one takes off.

I read about this on USA Today's Travel section the other day. Sounds like a cool option, but seemed REALLY pricey.

I think the only way it makes sense is if it is some sort of bargain deal for those of us who do partake in all of those options. The way it sounded now, it sounds like it costs more than just paying for things individually.

I guess it would depend on how many drinks you have, how many pay restaurants you use, photos you buy etc
