Magica excursion questions/ first time cruisers..

We will be on the Magica September 25, 2005 and have a few questions in regards to excursions and any additional info anyone would be willing to give us.

 

Savona - We are not sure if we should do Savona on our own. Is there anything to see or do there? Or should we just do the Portofino excursion?

 

Barcelona / Palma de Mallorca - We did our research and have decided to do the hop on and off bus tour. We figure we could get more out of this on our own then doing an excursion. Anyone have any must sees, eats, or shopping?

 

Tunis - Playing it safe and just doing an excursion.

 

Malta - Shopped around on the internet trying to find a guided tour. We are able to see almost everything offered in all of the excursions, for about 55 Lira. Anyone get better prices on their own or really enjoyed a private guided tour. If so could you forward the info? Thanks.

 

Palermo - We are doing it on our own and spending time with family.

We were on the Magica in July, and had a wonderful cruise. It was also our first, like you.

 

We flew to Milan, and then were taken by coach to embark in Savona, and so did not get a chance to see the town, but we heard from people who had gone in alone said it was lovely.

 

Barcelona we got the cruise shuttle bus (5 euros each, return) and then walked up the Ramblas ourselves.

 

In Palma we walked along to the Cathedral, which is one of the main landmarks. It was a very, very long walk, but we do like the exercise. That area of Palma is very nice.

 

Like you , we went on a tour of Tunis.(not the shopping one)

 

Anyway - have a great time and enjoy your cruise. I'm sure you will.

Thank you for the info. We have the Tunis Historical Excursion booked. Looks like it is the most interesting excursion, at least for us. We are looking forward to the cruise.
