Nickam,,we're sailing the Eastern Caribbean on August 23rd. My pvc told me our Gala Nights will be on Sunday Night and Thursday Night, which would be the 2nd and sixth nights.

That's fairly normal practice - one night after the first night and one night before the last night.

 

HOWEVER… In Europe MSC ships sail roundtrip from more than one port during the same cruise - for example when I was on Armonia in January the cruise was Fri-Fri ex Tenerife and Sat-Sat ex Grand Canaria. On Opera a few years earlier there were passenger changeovers at 4 ports of call - UK, France, Spain & Holland! This kind of arrangement can play havoc with the scheduling of formal nights.
