Passport Question Please Help

I know this is not at RCI question but, I have a friend filling out passport form and question #18 is date of travel and countries traveling too. She just wants to get her passport to begin traveling. We are trying to plan and cruise and she just feels better to go ahead and get one. Just wondering those who have applied lately how did you answer that question if you don't know yet where and when you are going. I can't remember having to answer that question when I got mine.

I never answered that question either. I guess your friend could say no plans as of yet or just put 2015. I'm sure many people get passports without plans to travel yet.

We just put Canada and put in a date 2 months away.

I've had a cruise or trip booked when I've applied, but the reason they ask is so they know when you need your passport, not to ask where you are traveling or anything. It really is just a scheduling thing for processing. You can put anything you want in since no trip is ever really set in stone til it happens.

She can answer that she has no immediate travel plans. She won't have any issues. Tell her not to worry.

The previous answer is correct. It is asked on renewal passport questionaires to see if it needs to be expedited.

Just say nothing booked yet or leave empty as it is a question meant for those needing passport by a set time
