ragethjj23 Posted August 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2014 I was looking at excursions for my sept. 2015 cruise and noticed one that was like an info bulletin. It said it is illegal to wear camo of any type in Barbados. Anyone heard of this?

CRU1Z1N Posted August 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2014 and if you have any type of camo anything you have to leave it in your stateroom or change clothes etc. They will not allow you to exit the ship with any type of camo. Only the military in Barbados is allowed to wear/have camo. Glad I packed DH an extra set of swimtrunks last year!!!
michiganredrose Posted August 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2014 A guy getting off the ship in front of us in Barbados was wearing camo and was told that he needed to go back to his cabin to change. Had a fit, threw a tantrum. It was pretty pathetic, I really wanted them to just let him off the ship so he could see that it really was illegal but he finally went and changed I guess. Felt bad for the Carnival employees who were just trying to do their jobs and keep him out of jail.
ShakyBeef Posted August 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Yep, as others have said, it's true. Also true in St. Kitts, and Trinidad and a few other Caribbean nations, I believe.
OCruisers Posted August 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Barbados takes this very seriously. Even young children aren't allowed to wear camo. LuLu
Laurie S. Posted August 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Can't wear pink camo, either, although I wonder why anyone would want to. ;)
OCruisers Posted August 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 14, 2014 Can't wear pink camo, either, although I wonder why anyone would want to. ;) True! Any camo design. A woman in St. Kitts had to change her pink camo tote bag. LuLu
seashinesunshine Posted August 14, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2014 They do have their reasons, also, don't take pictures of military or security. Last cruise, in Barbados my husband appeared to be taking a photo of a security person, I believe his uniform said something about customs. He politely asked him to stop. Which my husband did. He actually had quite a zoom on his lens and hadn't even noticed the guy, so he wasn't taking his photos. The guy told us it is not allowed to take photos of them. Fine by us, I'm sure the have their reasons.
