DP Posted May 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2004 My DH has his own ideas as to what he wants as the bar set-up and it does not include wine. Can I exchange beer in fridge for wine. Any idea of cost to purchase a bottle of the complimentary wine. If I buy wine at a port can I take it to the pool bar for lunch and would there be a corkage fee? mrlevin Posted May 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2004 You can't replace the two cans of beer with wine; however, you can use one of the two free bottles for wine. No problem bringing wine aboard. You can probably bring cases aboard if you want. You can also ask for wine when having dinner en suite. They will bring you the bottle. You can save leftovers for a later time. Taking your own wine up to the pool bar is just plain rude. marc 12/19/02 Mariner 05/24/03 Diamond 10/01/03 Voyager 12/27/03 Voyager <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=6> <param name="day" value=2> <param name="hour" value=12> </applet> Seven Seas Navigator Bermuda <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=10> <param name="day" value=4> <param name="hour" value=7> </applet> Diamond Oct 4th (DOF) <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=11> <param name="day" value=21> <param name="hour" value=07> </applet> Seven Seas Voyager Transatlantic
DP Posted May 23, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 23, 2004 I'm sorry, you misunderstood about my taking wine to the pool. I meant it in the sense that it would be the same as taking a bottle to dinner but in this instance it would be lunch and I would give it to the barkeeper. I have done this on other cruises and never been charged corkage but then I tip quite heavily when I give the bottle to the barkeeper and he keeps it separately until I finish it after several days. I also order wine directly from the bar as well.
JoAnne B Posted May 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2004 Since wine is not included at lunch, I think bringing your own to the bar may be frowned on. However, you may be able to buy a bottle and have the bar keep it for you. Or you could order room service and have a luxurious lunch on your balcony with your own wine. DP Posted May 24, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I like your idea of having a luxurious lunch on my balcony and sipping my own wine. Now why didn't I think of that!!!
mrlevin Posted May 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Diane: For room service lunch, I strongly recommend the filet with green pepper sauce. Also, you can indulge in a couple shrimp cocktails. Of course, my favorite is the steak sandwich. Baby lamb chops, although technically not on the lunch time menu, can often times be ordered if they have them handy. Enjoy your cruise, sorry I was a bit abrupt in my earlier post. marc 12/19/02 Mariner 05/24/03 Diamond 10/01/03 Voyager 12/27/03 Voyager <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=6> <param name="day" value=2> <param name="hour" value=12> </applet> Seven Seas Navigator Bermuda <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=10> <param name="day" value=4> <param name="hour" value=7> </applet> Diamond Oct 4th (DOF) <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=11> <param name="day" value=21> <param name="hour" value=07> </applet> Seven Seas Voyager Transatlantic [This message was edited by mrlevin on 05-24-04 at 07:20 PM.]

rp1 Posted May 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Marc, Just off the Navigator. No more jumbo shrimp cocktail on the room service menu. It has been replaced with baby shrimp cocktail and sadly the price of a glass of wine has gone up. DP, I believe you may purchase a bottle of the house wines for about $25. cinder10 Posted May 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2004 ICK!! We loved those shrimp coctail each and every day after shower and before dinner. But the brie and cheese plate is wonderful as well. We bought wine at our first port, and hauled it on the ship. Only 20 something days, and just heard that our cruise docs are heading this way!!
