S-S Card Question

Sorry for another newbie question.

Is all SS cards attached to the same room or can each person have their own card with their own bill?

Or can all cards be combined and one bill?

Reading a thread yesterday about the SS card many mentioned they don't attach a credit card to it and simply go to an automated kiosk and add money to the card.

It was also mentioned that if you have no balance on the card then your account is on hold till you add funds and no transactions would be accepted.. So how could Carnival charge the SS account on the 2nd day for auto gratuities if you don't add any money to the card? (This is more of an out of curiosity question from reading the other thread)

You either have to put cash on your S & S card or attached a CC to your account. Each person in the cabin can have their own CC or cash applied to it.

We have both of us attached to my CC.

First, ask as many questions as you have... It's better to ask and know, then not ask and find out the hard way...

Upon filling out the FunPass on carnival.com you can put each passenger under the same credit card OR each one can sign up under a separate credit card...

If you don't put any money on the card, you just won't be allowed to purchase anything. Carnival will try to add the tips and then you will get a letter in your cabin asking you to either contact or go to Guest Services..

The statement is per CC. So if two are using the same card then you'll get one statement.

If different cards then you'll get separate statements.

Charges are broken down by 'folio'. Each person has their own folio number, located on the S&S card.

We check our statement every so often. We used to keep all the receipts, but many times they are going paperless.

(Need a receipt for a Match Play casino coupon ;) )

Match play coupon? How do you obtain those for the casino?

If there is no arrangements to have access to a CC or deposited cash, no you cannot purchase anything. I guess that's a way to not tip either, but that's a low way to do it. I think you have a small grace period to charge small amounts upon boarding, so if you do this, and never pay it, you cannot disembark without some repayment arrangement with Carnival. I've read this somewhere, so it's not my first hand experience.

Purchase one of the "standard" drinks or drink of the day and receive a match play coupon for EACH drink purchased. I THINK you have to purchase from the bar in the casino, but not sure on that.
