GREG781 Posted August 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2014 Has anyone booked the 3 rest. package online prior to their cruise? Do they offer it even more discounted when you book it on the ship? Any advice is appreciated. We are going on the Summit in February.

If there has been a good pre cruise booking they have to reason to temp with discounts. But, if the pre bookings have been light you will see the staff hawking discounts to fill the seats. There is no way to truly know till you plant a firm foot on the ship.

Rufferto Posted August 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2014 When we cruised in 2012 on the Solstice the discounts onboard were better than the package. The downside is that you can't pick your night well in advance. You buy it the morning of.
Rare hammo Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2014 I would love to book the specialty restaurant package for our cruise but still cannot even see my reservation on the Celebrity website.
lovemylab Posted August 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Anytime we have cruised, the dining packages were the same price onboard. We usually waited until we were onboard to book since this allowed us to use some OBC. Occasionally, certain restaurants would offer discounts for evenings that were not busy but there was no way to know in advance whether this would be available or on what nights. For example, on the Summit we were offered numerous discounts for Qsine. On our Solstice and Equinox cruises, the specialty restaurants were very busy and we weren't able to get an additional discount. Lovemychoos Posted August 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2014 We recently booked the 5 dinner package online for our cruise in October. The saving was 38%, so we feel that we've got a good deal :D Lou

The saving was 38%, so we feel that we've got a good deal :D Lou We looked into the 5 dinner package for our Med trip next week on Reflection and X picks your first night restaurant and then you take a chance that the time and the restaurant you want is available for when you want it. You can't select where you want to dine until you are on the ship. The savings are nice but I like to know what I have and assured of the arrangements. Too much to chance. ;)
Lovemychoos Posted August 30, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 30, 2014 We've done these before, and not had a problem :) We just go to sort it as soon as we get on the ship, and have even managed to change the first one. Hopefully, this cruise will be the same. Lou
floralscent Posted August 30, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 30, 2014 We always get a dining package and love them. We see it as you get a pretty good discount with a package purchase and it allows you to eat at all the restaurants. We feel for the amount of savings that we might save searching for a deal onboard is not worth it, for us anyway. We'd rather just get it done and buy the package before boarding, use OBC for something else and not have to think about it while on vacation.
