lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #233 Share Posted February 15, 2015 As a little speed boat passed by, we made several attempts to take a photo that looked like the boat was driving straight into my brother’s mouth After that, we headed to my sibling-duo-cousin’s room that they were sharing for glacier viewing with all of my relatives. On the way there, we saw Daisy! (at least her back view ^^. The crew member with her wouldn’t let her stop to take a photo with me >_>.) We entered their room and saw that we were actually the last to arrive! Several of my relatives were seated on the bed chatting, some on the couch, and a few at the verandah. I took off my camera bag and left it in the middle of the bed, asking my aunts to make sure it doesn’t fall off. I then make my way over to the verandah and took some pictures of some of the scenery leading to the glacier. After a while of drifting, Tracy Arm glacier was in sight! (this is me taking the picture by leaning REALLY far off the balcony and zooming in ^^)
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #234 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Since it would still be quite a bit of drifting before we were actually close enough, I went back inside. While inside, I noticed these laying on the vanity: Curious, I asked what these were LOL. With the sudden appearance of random animal masks, it suddenly dawned on me that while my brother and I had been taking boat-eating pictures, my sister and my three female cousins had been having their own fun. //*FLASHBACK FOR EXPLANATION OF RANDOM ANIMAL MASKS*// So apparently that afternoon, my three cousins joined by my sister, spent their day running around the open deck: (see the bear is my sister, and you can probably guess which one’s the ten year old and the older one)
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #235 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Attending craft sessions (and hence the appearance of the random animal masks – lol they had us try to guess who made what) Spotting Cinderella: And eating ice cream and soup in my oldest cousin’s room! (from Goofy’s Galley) //*FLASH-FORWARD BACK TO THE PRESENT*// Which eventually brought them to the towel dinosaur my cousin’s room: As the boat slowly approached the glacier, more beautiful sights came into view:
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #236 Share Posted February 15, 2015 (from a distance, we could see a bunch of seals on a piece of ice!) I then switched to my super zoom lens to get a better view of the seals sunbathing over there
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #237 Share Posted February 15, 2015 This is the best shot I could get ^^. It was equivalent to the shot the crew was projecting onto our television. While I was so zoomed in, I zoomed in on the glacier up ahead! Oh, hi there :D It wasn’t until I spotted this little guy through my zoom lens, that I realized that all of these little specs and dark dots were all seals! :o
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #238 Share Posted February 15, 2015 So by this time, the ship was pulled up as closely to the glacier as it was allowed to be. (Which was like this close … not very close, right? LOL) So it’s no wonder I opted for the super zoom lens for nearly the entire time ^^” Hey look, more seals :D
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #239 Share Posted February 15, 2015 At this time, we started hearing rumblings, almost like thunder. When all of a sudden, some pieces of glacier fell off! (Apparently that’s like a really big deal and it’s hard to come across ^^) and guess who just happened to be conveniently looking at that part of the glacier when it happened~? Yup, ME! :D We hung there for a while, and I took a few more snaps. (look at the water separation o-o) It’s weird, because from afar, the glacier doesn’t seem that big, but compare the size of the seals to yourself and get a better idea o-o
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #240 Share Posted February 15, 2015 And then guess what happened? More rumbling and another piece fell off! Yeah, so I took a few more pictures before the ship started leaving. (This is the nicest weather we’ve had at Tracy Arm :)!) After that, we headed out. I was going to go to the gym and exercise before dinner. No one wanted to join me so I just went by myself LOL. (Hmph, who needs em >->) ^^ Once I completed my workout, I headed back to my room to shower and get ready for dinner. While I was getting ready, my siblings came back and once we were all ready to go, we started making our way upstairs. On the way there, I told my siblings to wait, because there was a certain area I’ve been wanting to take a picture of, but never got the chance to. It was this little area hidden behind a set of elevators:
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #241 Share Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) They nagged me to hurry up, so I quickly wrapped it up and followed them to the elevators. We then made our way to Animator’s Palate. (Hehe, look who we ran into on the way there? ^^) Tonight’s menu was the regular Animator’s Palate menu. First, here’s the kid’s Frozen menu (hehe get it? cuz it’s glacier day? :P) And then here was our menu! lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #242 Share Posted February 15, 2015 After ordering, I took before “before” shots of the restaurant, pre-colour: Shortly thereafter, the colours started to appear ~
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #243 Share Posted February 15, 2015 First up was the Smoked Salmon Tartar: (A little squishy due to whatever sauce they were using to hold the pieces together, but nonetheless alright. 7.8/10) Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes: (This one was actually really good! Kind of awkward-looking, as the pastas looked as though had been frightened by something, and were therefore trying to press themselves against one side of the dish ^^. 8.3/10) As the meal continued, the colours of the restaurant changed… Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup: (Thick, nice and creamy and not too salty! 8.1/10)
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #244 Share Posted February 15, 2015 And the colours change some more~ Eventually, our entrées arrive! Ginger-Teriyaki dusted Angus Beef Tenderloin: (sorry for the blurry shot) (As usual, very well made steaks. Never disappoints. 8.8/10) Herb Crusted Veal Chop: (Very, very good. The honey Dijon crust really compliments the meat. Not much of a risotto person, but still ate some of it. It wasn’t bad. 8.9/10)
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #245 Share Posted February 15, 2015 As everyone was basically finished their entrées, the lights started getting more interesting. It was happening. Music started playing and our servers (and everybody else’s) disappeared. The lights faded to black and some Disney clips started playing all around the restaurant. I had actually anticipated this because I remembered this event from our last Disney cruise. That’s why I had told my relatives (who had cameras) to have them on hold and in the ready position (: they were kind of like o-o?? what why what’s going to happen? And I was just looking the other way, whistling like a dwarf ^^ like “I don’t know~~ you’ll just have to see!” Well it was time for them to see!! >:D After the light show, sorcerer Mickey appeared from out of nowhere and started dancing LOL Shortly followed by a march of dining room servers who were now wearing new colourful uniforms (: Once the exciting show was over, we proceeded on to dessert! Here was the menu:
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #246 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Once we all ordered, Ericson came over and presented us with another puzzle: While we worked on it, he brought our desserts over. I ordered the ’Make Your Own Pie’: (:D hehe you put the custard filling on top of the raspberry jelly, cover it in chocolate crème and place some meringue and chocolate decorations on top! LOL it is so like me to order something like this.) Here’s what the end result looked like! (To be honest, it didn’t taste that great but I liked making it LOL. It didn’t taste bad, it’s just that … everyone else’s desserts tasted better hahaha. 7.2/10) White Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake: (Yeah, this was pretty good. Although the cake part was too sponge cake-y?? It’s supposed to be a cheesecake LOL. 8.3/10)
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #247 Share Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Cookies ‘n Cream Sundae: (As usual, Disney is pretty solid with their sundaes, never disappoints. 8.5/10) Sweet Temptations: Chilled Mango Mousse, White Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake and Lemon-Raspberry Tart: (I’m not much of a mousse person, but this one was still pretty good, 7.8/10. The cheesecake was quite good, same as the one above, 8.5/10. Not much of a tart person, 7.2/10) Duo Chocolate Cake: (I didn’t order this, but I think I tried some ??? It’s just a mousse cake? 8.1/10) Crunchy Walnut Cake: (I recall trying some of my parents’ cake and it was pretty good LOL. 8.4/10) Strawberry Ice Cream: (Your typical strawberry ice cream lol 8.0/10) As soon as we solved the puzzle we called out to Ericson in triumph and asked him for a new one LOL. Here was the next one he showed us: (The last puzzle he presented us with was a cheap non-sense one LOL, fitting NINE HORSES in 10 boxes – just put each letter in a box LOL) Edited February 15, 2015 by lovely_serenity
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #248 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Once we finished our meal we headed out. On the way, I noticed how the sunlight was nicely shining in through the large round windows of the Animator’s hall. Evidently there was really nice scenery going by outside, so obviously I can’t just that be, right? LOL. I clip clopped out onto deck in my 4.5 inch heels and those who wanted pictures with the pretty scenery followed me haha.
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #249 Share Posted February 15, 2015 As you can see, we weren’t the only ones who noticed the pretty sunset! (: I think this was the most beautiful sunset + weather we saw all cruise!
lovely_serenity Posted February 15, 2015 Author #250 Share Posted February 15, 2015 After a while, we got a bit chilly so we headed back inside. We strolled over to the atrium to take a look at what was going on. On the third floor was Mickey and Minnie donning their cute Alaskan outfits (:
