dixieva Posted September 10, 2014 #476 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Have a great day in Cocoa Cay! I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of the island. One question- in Nassau did you have to walk down that long dock or did they have some sort of trolley? Each time we have been there we have had to walk and happened to dock near the far end of the pier. That walk is something!
Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #477 Share Posted September 10, 2014 They have a small bus that runs continuously and stops at the ship about every 15 minutes. Coming back yesterday, it was starting to rain and lots of folks walked around or squeezed by all of the handicapped people lined up with walkers.
dixieva Posted September 10, 2014 #478 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks! I really do not understand people who don't give priority to the handicapped. There should be some staff (or maybe the bus driver) who makes sure they get loaded first on the bus.
cruising bean Posted September 10, 2014 #479 Share Posted September 10, 2014 I am loving your review. So happy that Judith is feeling better. When you say they walked past people with walkers, do you mean they cut the line to get in front of them?
Barb Nahoumi Posted September 10, 2014 #480 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Door Sign of the Day! I have a cruise critic member tee shirt, which I bought from the site store years ago. I bring it on every cruise.

Skip2MySue Posted September 10, 2014 #482 Share Posted September 10, 2014 I have a cruise critic member tee shirt, which I bought from the site store years ago. I bring it on every cruise. I have one of those shirts too. They don't sell them anymore which I can't figure out why. I always wear mine at initial boarding for ID from others and it always seems to get a chuckle or two from the crew. Skip

Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #484 Share Posted September 10, 2014 We arrived at Coco Cay on time but there were lots of small showers in the area until around 10 am when it cleared up and got hot. We are not alone...
Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #485 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Our last breakfast in the Windjammer. We will skip breakfast tomorrow and stop at a "Waffle House" about 2 hours up the road. If all goes well we can be out of the port and headed north by 8:30 am. Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #486 Share Posted September 10, 2014 We decided to stay on board and take it easy today. We are getting packed and organized for the trip home, relaxing, and reading. There is no breeze up on the Pool Deck at all! It is hot up there and probably hotter on the island. shelbylook Posted September 10, 2014 #487 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Now that it's nearing the end of your adventure, I bet both of you are getting anxious to get home to see the kids. Lord knows they are going to be happy puppies, kitties, duckies, goozies and chickies when you pull into the drive! MOM! DAD! YOU'RE HOME!!!! Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #489 Share Posted September 10, 2014 The last Tender was supposed to leave the Island at 4:15 so we should be leaving soon for Fort Lauderdale. Reports from people who went ashore are that the Jellyfish were really bad, both in the water and on the beach. The Staff closed the Water Park because of them! A number of people got stung! Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #490 Share Posted September 10, 2014 A few minutes ago, about 6 pm, the Captain announced that we are now leaving Coco Cay. The delay was caused by a twisted anchor chain and was fixed by raising and lowering the anchor until the chain piled up in the chain locker properly. Trainman-2 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #491 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Things that have "disappeared" since our last cruise... - The Windjammer used to set out donuts & rolls along with coffee one hour before opening for breakfast. This was in addition to the 24 hour coffee that is always available. - Pre-Paid Gratuity Vouchers are no longer printed for us to stuff into envelopes and hand out on the last night. The "tipees" get a print out on debarkation day of what tips they got. - I mentioned earlier that regular round donuts (the kind with holes in the middle) are gone, both the plain and chocolate covered. - Greek Salad is mostly gone from the Windjammer. We had it twice and both times there were no chunks of Feta Cheese in it, only a few "specks" here and there. (That was one of our favorites) - No FOX News on the Television
karena1 Posted September 10, 2014 #492 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Glad you enjoyed your cruise As far as envelopes, we always get one in the cabin for our cabin person, then I just go down to Guest Services to get extra ones for our wait staff if we have the same ones the entire time we do MTD

1ParticularHbr Posted September 10, 2014 #495 Share Posted September 10, 2014 The Post You Have All Been Waiting For... Like so many other cocktails, there seem to be different recipes for this. The one I use, from Gosling's Black Seal Rum (from Bermuda) is: 4 oz Gosling's Black Seal Rum 4 oz Gosling's Gold Rum 5 oz Pineapple Juice 5 oz Orange Juice ¾ oz Grenadine or 2 oz Bermuda Falernum 6 Dashes of Angostura Bitters It tastes JUST like the ones from The Swizzle Inn! Sky616 Posted September 11, 2014 #496 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Really enjoyed your review. Didn't think I ever wanted to go to Bermuda but now I think we may have to. It looks beautiful. We can leave out of Baltimore which is really convenient. Thanks again.
psupa Posted September 11, 2014 #497 Share Posted September 11, 2014 But there was a stark difference between the cleanliness of Bermuda and the lack there of in Nassau. So true. Bermuda has always been a favorite of mine Theresa
