AtMaui Posted September 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Is it possible to get a taxi at Princess Cay to tour the island?
SHayesShip Posted September 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Simple answer is NO. There is no town settlement at or near Princess Cays. Only a few locals live in Princess Cays for security reasons. The people who run the shops are brought in by private boat/car when ships are in port. No outsiders are allowed in or near the complex. EatonDoolittle Posted September 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2014 PC is on the tip of Eleuthera, which most certainly is an inhabited island. Last time I was there (several years ago), you could easily walk through a gate and be outside of the "compound". There were craft vendors out there, but I don't remember if there were cabs or opportunities to go exploring further.. Maybe things have changed, but it is not like the armed entrance/exit to Haiti from the Labadee peninsula. It is the Bahamas.
Typhoon1 Posted September 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Good luck. There are no roads. Take a long walk and you might get a tour of the island, its all sand, and trees.
wineandbeach Posted September 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2014 If you walk out the gates, there are definitely roads. Maybe not in the best condition but we were on a road - and went to an amazing deserted beach. Don't really think you will find a cab but there are tours that leave Princess Cays. We went with Eleuthera tours and had a great day
AtMaui Posted September 26, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Thanks for the responses. I think I'll check out Eleuthera tours and see what they offer. Jaci
pusywillow Posted November 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2014 I took the tour that Princess offered and it was very good. I was not interested on having a beach day.
