If you use the Russian site, they do not require a deposit.

I highly recommend Red October. We used them for a party of four July 5th and 6th, and had a marvelous tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent english and knew where all the clean bath rooms were. Our driver was also great. If you have any specific questions, I would be glad to answer them.

Thanks, everyone. We are deciding on which cruise to take next summer and will probably book one within the next few weeks. Once that's done, we will book our excursions for St. Petersburg.

I too would like to endorse Red October. My wife and I went on one of their tours (we were a party of 4 altogether) and it was the highlight of our trip, particularly the lunch with the Russian family. If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

I also recently took RO and recommend them highly. That stated, if you DO decide to use them, correspond with their Russian email address and not the US contacts. Olga is VERY responsive and receptive to any custom-made changes you want to make to your itinerary. We made several changes during the course of our planning and every detail requested was addressed adequately.
