I know that this has probably been asked a million times so please accept my apology in advance.

How would I get there? Ferry? Excursion?

How much does it cost? I'm not really interested in the stingrays just want a nice relaxing day on a beautiful island.

Is is worth the trip?

If your cruiseline doesn't have a tour, your can book it thru Nassau Cruises.

http://www.nassaucruisesbahamas.com/reservations.htm

You'll have to take a cab to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal (about $4 pp), and catch the ferry to the island. You can probably be dropped off near the cruise dock, ask they use the same ferries for the dolphin swim.

There is no longer a stingray pen on the island, the hurricane destroyed it a while back.

The website states the price at $65.. if that's the case.. I don't think it 's worth it.

There are other tours for less money that include lunch, entertainment, snorkeling etc.

If you have the time, look into Sea Island Adventure or Flying Cloud.

Thanks Scubagirrl!

You mentioned catching a ferry from Paradise Island. Do you happen to know the charge for this, when not with a tour or excursion, just for the ferry?

And once you get to Blue Lagoon Island can you wander around on your own, snorkel and relax on a hammock?

The FERRY IS THE TOUR.. and they are the only way to get to Blue Lagoon Island.

This is a special, very large ferry, not the small water taxis across the harbour.

According to the website, they charge $65. (somehow, I think that's kinda high.)

The ferry makes two trips out and two trips back per day. Contact Nassau Cruises for details. (link above)
