Ocho Rios Budget Rental Car Company - BEWARE

:mad: BEWARE of this rental car company in Ocho Rios.

We rented scooters for a day trip in Ocho Rios, and was ripped off $400 for 'fresh' scratches that were already on the scooter from previous rentals.

We had to put down a $200 cash deposit + $35 rental fee for each scooter.

We thought this strange since the day before in Grand Cayman, all that was paid was the rental fee.

The scooters were inspected before leaving the rental place, thoroughly.

Upon returning a different mechanic inspected the scooters, and found 'fresh' scratches, and the agent stated that if there were 'damages' to the scooters we could not get our cash deposits back.

Before putting the deposit on the scooters, we asked what it was for. The agent expalined that it was the same as putting a deposit down for a car, and that's their policy for scooters as well. Nothing was mentioned about damages or the money would not be returned.

The reason for the cash deposits was because the credit card machine would not accept our MC cards. So I called the cc company from Jamaica and asked if the transactions were getting to them, they stated that they did not see anything coming from Jamaica, something must be wrong with the machine, hence the cash deposit.

To make a long story short, DH had to pull me out of the office, to make it back to the ship before it left us, without our money. :eek: :mad:
