Breeze-entertainment?

We will be on the Breeze in a few weeks. How is the current entertainment? We love going to the shows after dinner but the last time we were on there the singers on the shows sang off key half the time. Don't get me wrong, we still enjoyed ourselves...it's still better than being at home and at work :) Just wondered what it's like now.

I haven't been on the ship in over a year, but from reports I've seen, it's still all the same, unfortunately. The shows very rarely change. People praise this ship to no end, which confuses me. I feel that there should be a bit "but" at the end of the praise. Great ship, BUT the stage shows are not very good.

Breeze had the best entertainment of any ship we've been on so far. Except for the Playlist shows which did not wow. BUT there was tons of live music all over. Consuela Ivy and her live band were featured on the Plaza. Our fly-in missed his flight so Consuela subbed and did a Motown show which was great. There was a 3 piece group with a girl singer in the Atrium that belted out diva tunes. There was a laid back Caribbean style singer in the Red Frog Pub who did Jimmy Buffet, calypso, reggae, sea ballads, etc... Our piano man was Ron Pass who wowed the crowds with singable tunes. There was also a magic/juggling act that I liked way more than I thought I would. Then the games, Hasbro during the day, Marriage Game at night. Comedy Shows, both family and x-rated. I'm sure I'm missing something. Don't worry, you will find something to suit your tastes.

Sailed the Breeze in February and went to the 3 shows. Was not impressed at all. On my other 16 Carnival cruises, I was always praising the shows and how good they were.

First of all, the music is very, very loud. To the point of being silly. Then they flash lights at the audience which does not bother you until the beam hits you straight on and you are blinded for several seconds. I want to watch the show and not light beams. The dancers and singers are OK. Not fantastic but OK. The choreography, however, is very poor. It's all rock like and rap. Maybe for one show but not all. The costumes are repetitious and mostly dark black colors. On the plus side, the computerized backgrounds are amazing. Gives you the impression that there are a hundred performers on the stage. The comedy shows were very funny and the magician did a wonderful job.

I am now booked for the Breeze in January. I will give the first show another try. If it is the same, I will walk out and head for the Casino. The good news is that you can always find some thing to do on the ships.

You would think by now with so many negative reviews, Carnival would resolve the problems. I guess they have so much money invested in the new programs that it is difficult to start all over again or go back to the past successful programs.

There you have it. I give them a 2.4 out of 5. Close to failing.

Just off the Breeze, they had The Brits and Divas.

Other nights were a juggler, a hynotists and hasbro.

Latin duet playing in the atrium.

A really good female singer in the Red Frog

Groove 6 in the Ocean Plaza

A really bad piano man, Adam

Comedians most nights at the back.

We were on the Breeze last year. On the eight day cruise there were only two playlist production shows. There were other types of shows in the main lounge the rest of the nights.

It gave us time to go to other shows such as the comedy shows.

We prefer the older stage shows much better than playlist.

We do like the Breeze for everything else and will be sailing on her again.

  • 4 months later...

Can anyone confirm that Consuela Ivy is still on the Breeze (specifically in June 2015)? We really enjoyed her shows on the breeze couple years ago and are hoping she is still on this ship for our upcoming cruise 😊
