Ft. Lauderdale pier to airport time

Our ship, the Lirica, is due into Ft. Lauderdale at 7:00 am and we would like to book a flight leaving at 10:40. Is that realistic?

The ride from the dock to the airport is about 15 minutes. It will depend on how long it takes to get off the ship, get a cab and what day it is. The day of the week will determine how many other ships are in port causing a delay in getting ground transportation and the long lines at the airport.

Suggest checking you luggage at the sky cap out side and then go direct to the security line.

I personally think the flight time is way too tight unless you cvan be in a cab by 8 am especially if its on a Staurday or Sunday morning.

Thanks for the info. I suspected it would be too tight a time frame, so we'll probably settle on an 11:55 departure that'll take 3 hours longer because of connections. The last possibility is a cheaper nonstop at 7:45 pm: is it possible to get a day rate at a nearby hotel?
