oreosmile Posted September 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Just looking at booking airfare for our Nov 22- Dec 6 b2b on Davina. What is the earliest flight time you would book from the Miami airport? We will be travelling in the Yacht Club in case that would factor into your calculations and would probably just grab a cab (3 of us) Any thoughts greatly appreciated! I think the earliest you can debark the ship would be 7:00am. This assumes there are no issues with Port Authority of course. I'm a worrier, so if something can go wrong, it will,,so if it was me,,I'd book a flight for 10:00am to be safe. Others may have differing opinions though. logan25 Posted September 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2014 I've never done YC. But when I departed the ship back in March, it took 40 minutes waiting for my luggage on the carousel inside the port terminal.
Mikesa1721 Posted September 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2014 I've never done YC. But when I departed the ship back in March, it took 40 minutes waiting for my luggage on the carousel inside the port terminal. I didn't even notice that Oreo was staying in the Yacht Club. Oreo,,the baggage handlers pull all Yacht Club luggage off of the belts and they set the luggage aside. Once you come down the ramp,,,you'll be asked if you are Yacht Club. A porter will be called for you and they will help find your luggage and load it onto a cart for you, and follow you through customs. We disembarked the ship at 9:00am and we were on the curb at 9:15am. Easy Peasy!!!!
kc13 Posted September 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2014 personally I wouldn't book before 12-1pm. You never know really how long it could take. Then you gotta allow yourself time to get to the airport and should be there 2hrs prior to flight.
riclop Posted September 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2014 On our 3 Divina cruises we have been in the airport at 815 of course we carry our own luggage off.
mistertoaster Posted September 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2014 We were in a YC2 on the Divina 8/16 cruise. We usually walk off with our luggage, but our butler assured us that pick up outside our room the night before would be easier and just as efficient. We met in the Yacht Club for breakfast and were escorted off the ship in the priority line at 7:15 a.m. Our luggage was waiting for us by the conveyer. Excellent disembark. We got a cab and were at MIA by 8 a.m. We had plenty of time to check bags for our 10 a.m. Flight. Sent from my iPad using Forums
oreosmile Posted September 16, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Thanks for the advice! Sounds like an 11:30 flight should be no problem. There is a 10am one as well, but I don't think I want to end vacation with any stress.
maureencruiser Posted September 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 17, 2014 I'm on an 11:30 flight to Charlotte, I'll let you know how it goes, I have a 3 hour layover in Charlotte.
maureencruiser Posted September 19, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Something just occurred to me, do taxis take credit cards, in Miami specifically? I've always used cash, but, I might be a little short this time, unless I find a Bank of America ATM in my travels.
