crackupforlaughs Posted September 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Is there a rental car place near the Vancouver cruise terminal (Canada Place?) that also has a return location at the Amtrak train station (VAC) -- both open on Sunday, with the train station location open until at least 4 pm? Thanks.
Urban trekker Posted September 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2014 I posted a reply on your other thread as I saw it first. Cheers! Dennis
Rare martincath Posted September 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2014 You may not realise quite how close together these spots are OP... it's about a mile-and-a-half with all the major rental car offices somewhere in-between them. They all seem to offer a 'free' pickup/dropoff (i.e. they'll reimburse you for cab fare from Canada Place rather than running a shuttle back & forth). If there's any kind of one-way fee involved (no idea how many different franchisees we have) it will probably be cheaper to just get the best-priced rental, return to same spot and even if they only pay your cab fare in one direction you'll be looking at under $10 from any rental place to the nearest of Canada Place or Pacific Central Station. NB: unless you have somewhere out of town you need to visit, a rental car in Vancouver is usually much more expensive than just taking cabs between the sights - and transit even more of a bargain. Even paying to store your bags at the pier or train station will probably work out much less than rental, tax, parking, gas, etc.
scottbee Posted September 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Is there a rental car place near the Vancouver cruise terminal (Canada Place?) that also has a return location at the Amtrak train station (VAC) -- both open on Sunday, with the train station location open until at least 4 pm? Thanks. A taxi between the two locations would be $15 tops; and most of the downtown agencies are located somewhere inbetween the two.
