nataliafdc Posted September 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Hello, I'm getting married (yay!) in February 20th, 2015, and we would really like to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. I have found 5 different options, but don't know which one would be the best! I've only cruised once before (Royal Caribbean, Explorer of the Seas) and I really liked it. My future husband hasn't cruised before so I really want it to be special. :) These are the options found: Norwegian Pearl Norwegian Sky Carnival Fascination Royal Caribbean - Enchantment of the Seas Royal Caribbean - Explorer of the Seas (Again) We are in our mid 20's and would really enjoy a nice pool  and onboard activities like rock climbing (but it isn't a must ). It's important that the food is good and the rooms are nice (we are going to stay in an interior one). We don't smoke or gamble so Casino is not important. We would like the ship to be in good conditions as well (not super old)... What do you think? Which one would be the best? Thanks!!!
Fourseventeen Posted September 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Carnival- more of a party crowd. You tend to get younger folks on these ships. no activities like zip line or rock climbing on Carnival. But they do tend to be the most affordable in the way of price for the actual cruise. RCCL- they have the rock climbing as you mentioned One you didnt mention- Disney. If you want high quality food, nice rooms, clean ships and NO CASINO....Disney is the answer. Disney has AMAZING dinning options...food quality is superb. Staff is on top of their game 110%. They make you feel like royalty. Though Disney tends to be a little more $$ than other cruise lines and during the days on the main deck there are a fair amount of kids....BUT the ships do have adult only areas and pools where kids are not allowed and they have plenty of adult clubs and lounges as well. Disney also stops on their private island which is really nice...and again has an adults ONLY beach that is secluded away from the family/kids beaches. Rare CruisinCrow Posted September 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Of the ones you listed, I've only been on Sky and Enchantment of the Seas and I'd vote for Enchantment. It has a huge pool deck, a rock climbing wall and a really fun bungee trampoline. (There's a link to my Enchantment review in my signature, if you want to see pictures.) I think it's nicer and more updated than Sky. I'd think about which itinerary you like best and also which port is easier for you to get to. Another thing to keep in mind is that the water is chilly in the Bahamas in February and if there is a cold front coming through, the ships often skip the private islands because it's not safe to tender to them. Happy Honeymoon!

I have been in the Bahamas/Caribbean waters year round and have never thought the water was cold. :)

Please do keep the possibility of chilly weather in the February for the Bahamas which makes picking a ship you would enjoy all the more important. My choice would be Enchantment OTS. :) It absolutely would NOT be Carnival Fascination. :( LuLu

Fourseventeen Posted September 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2014 You all are crazy. Ca waters in Feb are in the mid-high 50's. I live in Arizona so if 75 is not chilly to me then I think you are all nuts :D
aurelius180 Posted September 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2014 Yikes! We're low to mid-60s water temp on a good day around here. From that list I've only been on the Enchantment and we loved it. That was in 2008 before the most recent refurb too.
hannibal54 Posted September 18, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 18, 2014 Royal Caribbean also has the Majesty of the Seas that goes to Nassau.
