OBC Funding Question

Doubt we will be getting any OBC before we sail in two months, but wanted to ask if you can use your bank debit card to put funds into individual accounts. I do know what our banks daily withdrawal amount is. Our online check in is complete and we do have a major credit card set up to use, but wanted to use the bank debit card to apply funds before we sail. Don't know if that will cause conflicts. If we go over what we put in then the credit card will kick in. We are using a TA. Also how many days before you sail can you put funds in?

I would not recommend using a debit card! I would leave the charges on the credit card; I think you can change to the debit card to pay at the end of the cruise.

They ding your account for a certain amount (not sure what the dollar amount is), then ding it again when you're actually making payment, and they sometimes overlap, making it look like two transactions instead of one.

Cruise Cash from the Fun Shops on Carnival's website. Read the fine print because unlike the old days when applying funds directly to your OBC account, unused Cruise Cash will not be refunded. Cruise Cash will go into your on board credit account.

Yup. You don't have to put all of your money into Cruise Cash, but you can put enough to at least lighten the load on your debit card.

If you haven't yet, take care of your gratuities in advance by calling Carnival. You'll probably end up getting Bottomless Bubbles for everyone, so buy some Cruise Cash to cover that purchase (don't bother with Photo, Bar or Casino... just the plain Cruise Cash that you can use anywhere).

Once you're onboard you should be able to add cash to your S&S even if you've already backed it with your debit card (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The advantage is you won't have to wait in line the first day to do it.

In another thread someone mentioned that you can go to the casino and draw out cash against your account if it looks like there will be money still on the account at the end of the cruise :)
