how soon before the cruise do they let you know your stateroom or is it day of sailing? how do we do the luggage then?

In my experience cabins have been allocated has been a little over a week before sailing although MSC say it may be as late as embarkation. You can check by going to the MSC website and logging into onboard services. Yor cabin number appears if it has been allocated.

I have known two people that have booked a guarantee cabin - they both got upgraded to balcony and they both knew three weeks before sailing :) I hope you enjoy your cruise
