*Carnival Splendor* New Years 2014 ... Questions for the Experts Regarding The CASINO

Hi everyone! We are getting down to the last couple months before our New Years sailing aboard the Carnival Splendor! We are all very excited to say the least .. been 3 years since out last cruise (WOW) ....

 

So I promised my mother in law I would hit the boards and find out *ALL THINGS SPLENDOR CASINO* for one of my prepping posts before we set sail!

 

We all love to gamble ... but me and my mother in law have a *special* little addicition to gambling ... LOL (Just kidding ) ... but anyway we are trying to find out from all of our fellow cruisers here -- tell us your favorite machines - and what was the best ones paying out ...

 

What we like are usually the penny or two cent slots - but I'm all about the dollars and quarters too (I'm a "max bettor junkie .. so sometimes the dollar machines are cheaper than the pennies when you play the max!!!) ...

 

So lets hear everyones favorite casino stories! Tell me what's your favorite games and what pays out the best!!!

 

(Believe me at some point I will for sure be playing "fun 21" with my hubby from time to time .. but the slots are mine and my mother in laws passion!!!) - oh we wont forget about bingo either ... we'll be doing that too !!! :)

 

Oh - one final thing too - I have the 'players deal' where I am getting the $500 cash and all that fun stuff that I built up from our last cruise in 2011 ... so that's cool ....! Another question - has anyone gotten "lucky" with their casino cash? Or is it just like its gonna go and you aren't going to win anything regardless ... lol

your best bet in regards to the slots are the quick hits - they do pay out the best - they are pennies and the max is $2.00 or 1.50 depending on the machines.

Ohhh man ... and would ya believe that is the slot that I ABSOLUTELY HATE!?!?!?!? I've NEVER been lucky on those "quick hits" .... well maybe I should give it a whirl and see what happens ... thanks for the tip !!!

Well, I'm not a gambler at all so I can't help you with machines and/or table games but here's what I do know. If you collect 1500 (I think) points in the casino, you get free drinks for the rest of the cruise while you're in the casino (so you can't use your casino drinks card to get a drink on Lido for example). :D Not sure if they had that the last time you cruised or not but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Sounds like its going to be a fun cruise! Im riding on the Splendor week after thanksgiving. I read on a post(forgot where) that the casino does $5 match play with a drink receipt, which is great if you do the Cheers program. Thats 15 drinks/reciepts/match play per day that you can save up and use anytime. Not sure if someone can back this up :D

You and your MIL need to do the slot tournament, which is typically held on a sea day. Watch your Fun Times for the time/day. It is $25 per person, and the top prize is usually $500 on a 7 day cruise.

I have been on Splendor 4x this year,going again next month on repositioning(FREE) ! I like the 1/2 cent machines ,also Blues Brothers.They are back to Back across from casino bar. I won $2400 on a 50 cent bet on 1/2cent. $1 max.i was down to $5 in machine and didn't want to go back to cabin for more $. That was last month, August. I won about $800 on Blues Brothers, in Feb I think. I won over $500 on a multi denomination machine that was a 2 coiner playing 50cents. I seem to do better betting less than max. When I bet max I usually just lose it quicker. And I have gotten 4 free cruise offers this year,and 3 invites to Premiere Casino cruises.1 was even Ultra Casino Cruise on Sunshine in Dec. ,which casino was giving me $400 when I get on. I would rather have the free cruises !

Thank you everyone! Yes I'm lucky enough that I've been able to apply one of the "VIP Casino Premier" deals to this sailing - (my cruise FINALLY came up and qualified) - we booked back in January and have been getting the casino offers but of course they were not applicable to my sailing - and now i got one that is! So I already got the 'free drinks' in the casino (dont have to build up to it ... not that it takes me long .. ha ha) .... and $500 in slot play! WOWZER! Should last me an hour ... (JUST KIDDING .. better not!!)...

 

We will DEFINITELY enter the tournament ... although I really dont know how those work?? But we'll do it !!!

 

I am anxious to try the Blues Brothers - thanks so much for that tip! Now that would be a sweet way to start out the vacation winning some dough like that !!!!! :)

My DW has won a couple of times playing on the casino $$, maybe $700-$800. It sure is fun to walk up to the cage and have them give u cash to start out with. I always burn through the free $$. LOL. I save my winning until the end. Although not as lucky as DW.

I have found that some of the crappy, old, dumb looking slots r good to play. The bright flashy ones seem to eat up my $$.

This year we were on Conquest for a premiere casino cruise and then on Glory for a freebie from the premiere trip. We both had over 5000 pts so we had free drinks the entire trip:D

The premiere cruise r so awesome. We turned down that Ultra premiere trip bc we just can't do a 3rd cruise this yr. Going to Vegas soon instead.

Can't wait!! WOOT WOOT :D
