I live in Saint John. If I can't cruise then taking pictures of them when they're in port is the next best thing.

The Gem was in our home town of Saint John, NB on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day and I was able to get some pictures of her during the day and at sunset.

Enjoy

Great shots, thanks for sharing!

I'll be in Saint John on the Gem in a few weeks ... any advice for the best way to spend a day in your town?

If the weather is nice then a day trip out to St Martin's is well worth it if you like seafood. You can visit the caves and then sit down for some great seafood at the Cave restaurant. Look for a ship sponsored excursion for this as its about a 45 minute drive.

A walk through the City Market and grab some lunch is nice as well. Easy walk from the dock.

Some people do a day excursion to St Andrews as well. Very nice seaside town

If you'd like to spend a nice day walking a beautiful nature trail then the Irving Nature Park is beautiful. Bring some water and go for a lovely walk along the Bay of Fundy. You'd probably grab a taxi for this one and ask him to pick you up a couple of hours later.

If you're a golfer, you could play a round of golf

Rockwood Park is a quick cab ride. Drop off at Lily's Lake Pavillion, go for a walk around Lily Lake then sit down for a nice lunch at Lily's Bistro

Or you could opt for a walk along the shore starting at The Hilton Hotel ( a quick 5 minute walk from the ship) and going as far as the Reversing Falls Bridge. Just follow the Red/Pink walkway that starts just past the Hilton.

Some people like to visit Reversing Falls. I have to admit I don't see the big attraction but many do. There's a zip line there now apparently.
