92mill Posted September 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Why the delay in publishing 2016 schedules? most cruise lines including Oceania have already published them, some many months ago. Is this a consequence of the NCL takeover. If so, it does not augur well.
Travelcat2 Posted September 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) As my TA reminded me yesterday, Regent is always late putting out their new schedules. They mentioned that they could be taking additional time to figure out the positioning of the ships with the Explorer due out in the summer of 2016. Also, the Mariner is reportedly going to replace the Navigator in Alaska. The schedule that comes will only go through May, 2016 (if Regent follows their normal schedule releases). It will be interesting if the Navigator, Voyager and the Explorer will all be in the Med. at the same time. In any event, the schedules will be out next month. And, there is no way this has anything to do with NCL. They have no influence at this time and will not until the deal is signed. P.S. Oceania just released their schedules this month so Regent is not that far behind. Edited September 26, 2014 by Travelcat2
Rare papa B me Posted September 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I have been speaking directly with a Regent representative and she says they are releasing the itineraries for 2016 on October 15 and the itinerary for Explorer in January. 92mill Posted September 26, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted September 26, 2014 If the Mariner is going to Alaska in 2016 it is possible it will be going round South America after it arrives in Rio from Cape Town in late December 2015. Or maybe that's too soon to then go on to Alaska.
