Rental Car Drop-off/pick up in San Pedro

Does anyone have insight as to what is the best way to rent a car to San Pedro Pier? I have been advised that most car rental agencies have a pick up/drop off charge and they advise you to take the cab to and from the Pier to their downtown offices. No Courtesy Shuttle service?? :cool:

Last year, Enterprise had an office about a half-mile from the dock (maybe less). And they dropped me back off at the dock after I dropped the car. Excellent service! They did have an additional charge for dropping the car off at an office different from where I picked it up (Ontario airport), but even with the $40 charge it was cheaper than other rates I'd been quoted.
