I finally ordered a Cheongsam

Last June we had a lot of posts and interest in these gorgeous Asian styled dresses and I waffled on ordering one because I wasn't sure what size to order. After seeing JanetMarie in hers and rereading the posts from last June I finally ordered mine today from www.silk4you.com

I loved the royal blue dragon and phoenix long dress. For some reason I actually thought I was ordering online from China, but when I got the confirming e-mail it was from Virginia, no wonder they guarantee fast delivery. The total with shipping was only $40. I don't think I would have ordered this dress at that ridiculously low price if so many of you hadn't posted how beautifully made and how lovely the fabric was, I can't wait to get mine. Hi Girls,

I started the posts last year regarding these dresses, I had ordered 2 from silks 4 you, both

were great.

Also have bought cheongsam tops, 2, from the ebay sites, and another 2 dresses from another site on ebay specialising in these dresses.

If you are worried about the slits, just sew them up a little, if it's too high for you.

It's very easy to do.

You can get a few sites up on ebay by doing a search under "cheongsam" in the ladies clothing section.

One site there does a BEAUTIFUL backless halter dress, long for evening, the fabrics are just glorious, I will try to find it and post over the weekend, I will also try to find a pic from

our recent cruise, with my black/gold dragons cheongsam, that way I may be able to post it here or send on to any of you girls who may be interested.

Regards

Sandra

BEAUTIFUL Sissy, you will look stunning as ever!

I got p**** off with cheongsam after I bought one and have tried many on and can never get one to fit exactly. They are always too big on waist if they fit my bust. Last one was huge and got passed to my MIL. If anyone comes across a site which will make one to measure and despatch to UK, please let me know!

Hollyb...take a look at these 2 companies...I haven't ordered from them yet...but am keeping them in mind for a dress for when my daughter gets married (she's saying in 2 years).

http://ctailor.store.yahoo.com

and

http:http://www.chinesedresses.co.uk

Both of these companies will make the Chinese dresses to order...with choice of styles and fabrics.

Happy shopping!

I ordered one last year, but am finally wearing it on our June cruise. I am more top heavy, therefore ordering a larger dress so I have had to take it in to be tapered down on the sides. Where I live every corner has a cleaner/alterations shop so it wasn't that big of a deal. I also recently bought my daughters 13 & 10 the childrens cheongsams, I plan on going to Claire's and buying them the matching hair chop sticks and taking them to the salon for updo's.
