I booked two cabins for myself and family members and there has been a price reduction, but it is only on the cabin for my family members. I booked with my credit card but the refund went to onboard credit for my family members cabin. So my question is how do I get the money back ?It is a significant amount.

Assuming you bought the cabins as ES, after final payment, price drops are as OBC. If this is the case, you will need to talk to your family members about getting the money back. When you get onboard, they can go to the kiosk across from Guest Services and withdraw the OBC as cash.

You booked with your credit card but did your family members pay you back in cash for the initial cost of the fare? If they did, then the OBC is theirs. If however, you paid for their cabin, the OBC should be yours but you will have to arrange with them to give you the difference back either now in cash or when they get on board and get the OBC out in cash.

Quite a sticky situation, especially if YOU found the price drop! You haven't made it clear your financial arrangements, but if YOU literally paid it all (with no one paying you back), it should be yours, not an additional gift to them!

I'm thinking there has been a thread like this before and how they got the OBC back, maybe someone will chime in here.

This happened on our wedding cruise. We paid for 4.5 of our cabins and there was a significant price drops three days before we left. We explained the situation and asked them (mostly our parents) to withdraw the money (via the casino method since it was before the kiosks). They happily obliged and we used the money for wedding photos.

I think you can also go to guest services along with the person whose sail & sign got the credit and have it transferred to your account. I know this is a sticky situation but many times someone does the actual work and pays for the cruise and then the others reimburse the one who actually paid so that is why the cruise line refunds the money to the person in the cabin.

They don't want to get in the middle as sometimes it becomes a he said she said. Good luck.
