beasfriend Posted October 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2014 We're on the Dawn this Friday and will be in Bermuda 11am Sun morning. We have reservations at Flanagan's in Hamillton for the 1pm Patriots game. The first ferry over is 11:30and and the next 1:30pm. Two questions: Can we buy ferry/bus passes on the Dawn? How much will a taxi to Hamilton cost? Actually, there's a third question: There are 8 of us - are there vans that hold 8 and how much would that cost? Thank you for your assistance. njhorseman Posted October 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2014 Sometimes NCL has had passes, sometimes not. Taxis hold a maximum of 7 passengers. With the 50% Sunday surcharge for 5-7 passengers in a taxi, the fare to Hamilton would be close to $100. Since you have 8 people in your party I'd suggest taking two taxis with four people in each car. The base fare for 1-4 passengers is lower and there's "only" a 25% Sunday surcharge for 1-4 passengers so the fare for each taxi should be about $62.50...a total of $125 for the two taxis. Another option would be to see if there are any mini van operators available who would be willing to take you to Hamilton. The fares aren't regulated though so you may have to negotiate with them. By the way, since your ship is scheduled to arrive at 11 am local (Atlantic) time in Bermuda, it will be only 10 am in Boston, so you have a shot at just about making the 1 pm (Eastern time) kickoff by taking the 1:30 ferry, which will arrive in Hamilton at 1:50 pm...12:50 pm Eastern. sebas030 Posted October 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2014 You could also take the #7 bus out of the Dockyard at 11:50am. It's about 60 minute to reach Hamilton by bus BUT will cost only 4$ per person, and you will reach Hamilton before 1pm ( Bermuda time ). By van/car/taxi it would take about 35 minutes but would cost 4X more...more money for the beer via bus :D;) Enjoy Bermuda !
njhorseman Posted October 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2014 There's also a 12:05 #8 bus that would get you to Hamilton a bit after 1 pm Bermuda time (noon eastern) in plenty of time for the game. The 12:35 #8 would work too. The advantage of taking the #8 is that you'll avoid the crowds going to the beach on the #7. If you do go by bus...whether #7 or #8, you'll likely need to take a different mode of transportation back to the ship due to the reduced Sunday bus schedule. The last ferry, which leaves Hamilton at 6 pm, would fit your schedule as the game should end at about 5 -5:15 Bermuda time.
