rlkubi Posted October 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2014 Thinking about staying there in a few weeks. Any comments? Also if you have stayed there is a bus near to take you to Old San Juan? Thanks! Robin

WatchHill Posted October 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2014 Whenever we are in Puerto Rico, we stay at the Caribe in the Villa section of the hotel, requesting a room looking across the lagoon toward the Conrad. We usually check in through the main lobby, but the villas have their own small "front desk" that opens onto a back street, almost opposite the garage. From there it's an easy walk to the bus stop. Cross the street and around the corner - exact change required. That bus drops you at the main bus terminal in OSJ, across from one of the forts. Just outside the bus terminal you'll also find the starting & end points for the free trolley. The return bus drops off on the opposite side. Some people do not like the villas because the rooms exit onto an open air walk way; not an issue for us. We love the French balcony in our room, looking towards an old fortification and the bridge to the Condado area. The villa has its own pool area, adjacent to the bird sanctuary. Love watching the peacocks and swans. You can also feed the tropical fish swimming in the sanctuary. From there you can walk around the perimeter of the hotel to access the main pools and the "action" of the hotel amenities. It's a huge property.
