Shawl / jacket?

Help! We're cruising in the Med this summer. I know it will be VERY hot during the day, but I've heard the aircon (esp in the public rooms - dining rooms, theatre) can be COLD. I'll feel stupid packing wraps, shawls, etc, but I'll feel even more stupid if I'm cold in the evenings. Any advice?!?!?!

I ALWAYS travel with shawls or cardigans. The hotter it is, the more they blast the damned A/C making the public rooms like refrigerators.

Perhaps they feel that if your food gets iced cold within 5 minutes, you'll hurry to eat it and get out of the dining room!

The a/c seems to be controlled by men in wool suits and long sleeved shirts who wear socks!

Thanks for your advice - I'll just put up with DH's comments while I'm packing in the knowledge that I won't freeze! Presumably pashminas (or "pretend pashminas" - ie the less expensive versions) are best - warm, and flat for packing?

First of all, enjoy your upcoming trip - it sounds lovely! For me, I like a shawl because it's easy to toss over my shoulders as opposed to sticking my hand in a sweater, arching my back and sticking my other hand in. Don't get me wrong - I'm not the height of laziness I simply like convenience!

Where can I find a nice shawl this time of year? And what is a Pashminas? I too always get cold in the evenings on formal nights. I have a very dressy crochet type formal cardigan but a shawl or Pashminas sounds easier and dressier!

I bought a faux pashmina on my cruise in the ship gift shop, and only $10. This was on Carnival, but I've heard that the other cruiselines have them too. Mine is black but they had lots of colors! Take care, Shannon
