Kostbar Posted October 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I booked a cruise with a TA. Part of the deal is a $95 OBC and a credit in kind called: Buyer's Choice Food, Family and Fun Cruises. It includes: Private welcome reception Dinner at Giovannis Onboard Soda package Lunch or dinner at Jonny And some other stuff Do any of you have experience with this package? Google gave me no answers to my questions: Is this the replenish soda package ($20)? RCI has 4 packages and only one without alcohol. I guess it is this one but the TA did not know for sure. They said it would just be unlimited soda. But I real want the oj and the non alcoholic cocktails. Do you know anything about the welcome reception? Thanks
Enforcer Posted October 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Hi, "In kind" means something a bit different in the UK :) Pete

I think the new name is royal refreshment but it existed as the soda package long before Royal introduced those other packages. It is about $6.50 a day for adults and includes unlimited fountain soda from any bar/restaurant. In the US some of the ships also have special soda machines but I don't think these will be available on a UK sailing. Your TA should definitely know the difference between this and the royal replenish package!

Sent from my XT1049 using Forums mobile app Are you a past cruiser with Royal? If yes there is a welcome back party. The captain and some other senior officers attend and there is usually free champagne. If its not that I'm uncertain, sorry.
Kostbar Posted October 23, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted October 23, 2014 I am a returning RCI cruiser so yes, there is that. But this welcome party was a special from the TA. Perhaps it is the same and they some how got RCI to allow this as a special incentive or something.

In truth it would not be fair for the welcome party for a TA sponsored group to be part of the "Welcome Back" party that is for returning Royal cruisers. The TA group may have people who have never before cruised on Royal. I would think that the Welcome Aboard" party for the TA group would be different, and should be it that is what is being 'offered' in the promotion of the cruise by the TA. dacsmom Posted October 23, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 23, 2014 You would probably have to ask your TA, since it is their perk and not something offered from RCI.
