Has anyone tried Spanx. The inventor is making a fortune. They are not cheap at $25! They even have pants now that have Spanx connected underneath for a mere $72. What do you think girls?

I bought a Spanx knockoff at Walmart, they are by Leggs I think and were less than $10. they do the same thing, at least I like to think they do, I got nude and black, they even have different length legs. Gayla, do I see a new cruise you have booked? Sissy

I don't really see where they would do anything for me. They smoosh you down until where they end, and then what? On me, that would be a nice big ole bulge under whatever I was wearing. No thanks. I'd look better going native underneath!! (Not that I would dare do that either... )

I like what they do, it is so much smoother under lightweight fabrics, especially silk pants, were every little nook and cranny and cellulite dimple is magnified. Sissy

I bought a pair of Spanx last year at Nordstrom. Yes they were $25 but I LOVE them!! Great for creating a smooth effect under your clothes -- especially under light-colored clothing. You can purchase them at QVC. They do come in black and nude and in different lengths as well. HTH

I am going to try them. I believe that almost any department store has them. I think the price is controlled, so I am afraid that bargains are not possible. I am hoping that they end a little way above my waist. I am also going to follow Sissy's suggestions and try the cheaper version. Do they run like panty hose? Inquiring minds want to know?

If I remember right, they run S M L, and they have the kind that are waistnippers or short or longer legs as well...I have been satisfied with the ones I got from Walmart. I will be there on Friday and will dbl. check them to make sure I gave the right info. Sissy

Sissy - I have the same thing you are talking about by Leggs. Once I get the thing on I find it works pretty well - no sausage roll here!

Sausage thingees are what we first called them when this board started and it still "fits"! Spanx have been around at least that long but I've never bought one. These days, I'm not as slim as I once was so maybe I'd be doing myself a favor to buy one. . or two!

I put a hole in my Spanx the first time I wore them. I am not thin and I did not see that much difference. I would but the cheaper version to give it a try. I bought the largest one that they had and ripped it trying to get it on. I wear a 14 or 16.
