tkportersat Posted October 26, 2015 #27 Share Posted October 26, 2015 They give the kids a book and the characters "stamp" them. That is the autograph :) Autographs?? Do I need to bring something for my daughter to use for autographs or is there something there she can use?
sarmat1 Posted October 26, 2015 #28 Share Posted October 26, 2015 They give the kids a book and the characters "stamp" them. That is the autograph :) On our cruise, the handlers stamped them. No matter - we were there for the pictures anyway. To address the prior comment about characters not coming to the tables, we had it both ways on the Valor. As in all of the characters (Thing 1, Thing 2 and Sam I Am) came to the table except for Cat in the Hat. Because of the soffits in the MDR, Cat in the Hat couldn't fit his hat under them to get to the tables. So we had to go to him for pictures. I don't know which other ships the specific MDR layout might cause for him to not be able to get to the actual tables, but that is the reason why he might be standing separately elsewhere. bplazo Posted October 26, 2015 #29 Share Posted October 26, 2015 Gross. A good reason to stay away from a ship with Dr. Seuss.
R'man Posted October 27, 2015 #30 Share Posted October 27, 2015 We loved it! Had a great time, the characters were wonderful. We had no issues with the food, DH had the green eggs and ham and was pleased with the meal. Yes, you can take pictures with your camera. Actually, the a member of the entertainment staff walked around with the characters and used our camera to take pictures of us with the characters. It was a blast! We accompanied our two small granddaughters (2 yrs and 8 mos) to this on Glory, along with the parents and an adult friend . For a few weeks before the cruise grandma read the stories to the older child. At breakfast, each wore a "Thing #" t-shirt and were thrilled when the characters came to breakfast. The staff was happy to take pictures with your camera, and all were great with the children. There was no rushing anyone to the door. OTOH, for some it was like first meeting Santa Claus. Two in particular bordered on panic around any of the characters. The handlers and characters were careful not to exacerbate the situation. They did not inflict themselves on the upset duo. The food is generally the same as served at brunch with some Suess-ian twists, such as the Green eggs. Waffles crusted with frosted flakes...mmmm. We all had a blast, too.
