Don't even turn the computer on!! Stay away from anything that might distract you from packing: computer, TV, newspaper, etc. PACK!! GET EXCITED! I have to wait till NOVEMBER to pack, and you're getting ready to leave!! I'm so jealous.

Holly I think it is too early to pack. If you put your clothes in your suitcase now they will be full of wrinkles. Just get all your outfits neatly together in one spot, ready to pop in your suitcase no sooner than 2 days before you are scheduled to leave. Sorry I am not more help on the issue. Nevertheless, I am very sure that I want you to have the best vacation ever.

For months ahead, I make lists, shop, accesorize, organize, iron and stress, finally a few weeks before we are to leave it all comes together, all my clothes are pristinely hanging ironed in plastic bags and for some strange reason I have the hardest time actually folding them and putting them in the suitcase....I put it off until about 2 days before we are to leave and I know I just have to get it done....once I finally make up my mind that I have to pack, it goes quickly and according to the list I have stressed and struggled to complete. So Ruby, double check it all...organize all your accesories and jewelry and then as Seagulls advised pack it all 2 days before you leave...then all you have to do is get yourself ready and off you go. I seldom actually pack until the day before I leave, just before I go get my nails/toes done. However, I do lists shop, organize and iron at least a month ahead. Also, I gwenerally spend much of the last month organizing coverage at work and getting the house in tip top company clean shape cause I HATE walking back into a messy dirty house after a week or more of being pampered. Taht way I should not have to clean for a week or 2 and can extend the holiday feel.

Have you started yet? Your post was yesterday morning, maybe just thinking about it got you in the mood. Why don't you start small, say, organize your jewelry bag or carry on? I'll bet once you start small, the next thing you know you'll be on to the next bag, and the next. Pretty soon you will be done and wondering why you were procrastinating in the first place.

Marvholly We think just the same, I always have to come home to a spotless house. I also plan to never go right back to work after a cruise. In my mind, it would be a very rude awakening, I need a couple days to come off the vacation high first.

Holly, I know EXACTLY what you mean! I leave in two weeks on the Conquest....have I packed or gathered anything to one spot at least? Nooooo.....! I am just curious as to what mind games I am playing with myself psychologically.....why am I procrastinating by not getting organized???? How come we are doing that? Anyone a psychologist on here that can help us figure this out? LOL! Seriously, I really AM an organized person and hate disorganization.....but I just CAN'T bring myself to pack either! Do we just not want to give up the fun of anticipation and the mentally planning habit that we have gotten ourselves into? Heeeellllp!

I have packed all the non wrinkle stuff. Time is an issue for me this week as DH and I working flat out all week up until the last minute. I have just about finished ironing and as Sissy and Seagulls says, wont pack until last minute. Got my darlings new highland wear outfit at the ready and he is going to look totally srumptius! I dyed my eyebrows and eye lashes this morning. Monday is hair and the dreaded waxing day. Packed all indicentals, ie sun tan lotion, camera etc etc and tonight will finish ironing, so not too bad at all!
Thanks for getting me going girls!

O.k., Holly......you have shamed me into preparation. Sigh.... All I have done is buy things for myself and my family to wear on the cruise. I just HAVE to get in gear.

I work in a school library that we are moving to new school at beginning of next school year. So, needless to say, we have been working our proverbial tails off getting packed up for that. Guess my energy level for preparing for cruise is just at a low, huh?

I promised my kids that by the time they got home from school today the dining room table (vacation packing central at our house!) would be cleared off, initial laying out of "stuff" begun, and lists for each family member typed up. So now I'm accountable to the kids!!
