Dressing for the Dinning Room

This will be my first cruise so I want to make sure I bring the right clothes. I am cruising on the Carn. Pride on 9/12 for 7 days to the Mex. Riv. My question is other then formal nights what do the ladys usually wear in the dinning room for dinner. Sun dresses, capris,
slacks? I know there will be some nights we will not eat in the dinnig room because we want to stay in our shorts. I plan on doing all my shopping memerial day weekend because all the stores have there BIG sales. So if anyone can give me advice on what to wear to dinner I would appreciate it. I am kind lost.
