Caribbean Princess - Cabin R309

Having just got off a 9 night on the CB, I thought this is cabin that some people might inquire about.

We booked the lowest category guaranteed balcony, and were assigned cabin R309 - Riviera deck 14, mid-forward starboard.

I highly recommend this cabin for the following reasons:

This is the most forward that we have ever been, and never felt any significant motion.

It is close to the forward stairs & elevators

Being one flight from the lido deck is very convenient.

It has staterooms above & below, so there were no noise problems within. You can hear noise while on the balcony from the lido deck; specifically when chairs or tables are being dragged, or if there is an abundance of noise during an event by the pool. This did not pose a problem for us.

The balcony is the first that is not covered by the lido deck overhang. It is completely covered, but can still receive sun (unlike cabin 311). It has the added protection from an overhang from a higher deck which protects the cabin from the rain.

We never experienced that "funky smell" on this deck which we have noticed on other decks on other sailings.ImageUploadedByForums1414419475.738141.jpg.a907397c67c3bf83667039fb9b0d3c64.jpg

One negative from our sailing, was that my iPhone6 could not pick up a wifi signal in the cabin. The same could be said at both pools on the lido deck. There appears to be a router missing on this area of the ship, and when connected elsewhere, the speed is horribly slow. I did not have this problem on my prior sailings on this ship, so hopefully it is only temporary.
