diamondsparkling Posted October 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2014 I believe that a couple of cruises were cancelled after the New Year to enable the ships propulsion unit something or other to be fixed and that they had therefore brought the refit forward. Does anyone know exactly what they will be doing? Looking at the diagrams of before and after only shows that some categories of state room are changing. Salacia Posted October 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) I believe that a couple of cruises were cancelled after the New Year to enable the ships propulsion unit something or other to be fixed and that they had therefore brought the refit forward. Does anyone know exactly what they will be doing? Looking at the diagrams of before and after only shows that some categories of state room are changing. This is what I read about the refit: "The Queen Victoria will be entering the Blohm and Voss shipyard in Hamburg in January 2015 for a makeover that will create nine single staterooms on the ship for the first time. The line said the rooms would be remodelled from part of the ship’s casino, while carpets will be renewed throughout and large flat-screen TVs installed in all passenger staterooms. There will also be a change to the ship’s Lido restaurant, where waiters will in the future serve hot drinks at all meals. As on Queen Elizabeth, sun awnings will be erected on the open area near the stern Lido pool and on both sides of the Grills Upper Terrace area near the top of the ship to offer more shade on deck..." copied from http://www.ttgdigital.com/news/cunard-cancels-queen-victoria-sailings-for-multimillion-pound-refit/4692420.article I seem to remember that this was discussed previously on this forum...I'll try to find the thread. -S.
