Hal&Rob Posted November 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2014 Are there any major problems with the cabins on the Main Deck (DA Category)? We will be sailing this December for 45 days and have read a number of unsatisfactory reviews. Help!
seaside sally Posted November 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2014 My husband and I were on The Statendam this past September for a five day coastal and we were on the main deck -- cabin 578. Last September we did the same cruise but were in cabin 588 -- both cabins were in a great location -- very quiet -- no problems with a/c or heat -- the toilet work every time!! She is just returning tomorrow or maybe today from a 42 day cruise -- you may get some updates from others who are disembarking then -- Bill and Mary Ann -- WCB -- have done a 42 day write up for their entire cruise here on CC Check that out also -- oh, and have a wonderful cruise! :)
SilvertoGold Posted November 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2014 I could tell you, for what it is worth, that there were plumbing leaks in that area this spring and A/C that as spotty at best. That was then, this is now. There do not seems to be any truly systemic problems that are not being addressed. But thing happen, get fixed, occur somewhere else, fail again a few doors down. In other words, totally impossible to say about any specific problem, any specific location. You take your chances, old ship, new ship, big ship, small ship. 45 days sounds like the perfect length of a cruise Nice itinerary, too!! Enjoy.
