We are booked ES. Right now we have $50 nonrefundable OBC. Our rates are the same with the military sale but also has an offer of $25 refundable OBC. If i submit the ES form will i get the $25 or would i lose the $50 nonrefundable in order to get the $25 refundable? Trying to gain $25 not lose it....

Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, though - the $50 OBC was part of the ES Rate when you originally booked or is it from something else?

Not from when i originally booked..it's from one of the sales a few weeks ago and i honestly don't remember what it was.

Not to hijack the thread but I have a similar question on current specials. The current price total is less than what we originally paid ES and it is paid in full. We have $80 in OBC since paying off and with the current special it offers $50 OBC and price is less. If I understand thing correctly to get this price rreduction I would lose my $80 to get the fifty and the lesser price. Thanks fo any help.

We booked onboard so received the OBC for booking onboard. We are booked under past guest but are wondering if we change to Military which we qualify for can we keep the $100 for booking onboard and also get the $50 military OBC?

Anyone know?

You need to figure out which is the best deal after taking into both the price and OBC into consideration. Whichever is less is the one you go with.

When you price match to a new rate with or without OBC, it's the prevailing terms that overrule your previous one. You do not get both the OBC from your previous rate and OBC from the current one if there is any. Unless it was from booking on board or from a TA. Hope this makes sense.

You keep OBC that you get when booking on board no matter what. Be sure to check your info when changing rates as some people have reported it disappeared due to Carnival's error. It's best to call for price drops in this case to make sure they understand the OBC is from booking on board and not from a previous rate.

Thank you! I will call them later to see about switching rates. An extra $50 OBC will be sweet to have

You keep the $100 OBC and you also receive the $50 OBC, I know so since I just done that this morning with the Military rate. It was also confirmed on my Carnival Invoice. Do be careful since some of the Carnival reps will tell you that you will lose the $100 OBC. If that happens, make sure you talk with a Supervisor. The problem is that some reps confuse the issue with the Future Cruise Certificate (No longer in existence) which had different guidelines.

Camper I don't understand why the non-refundable OBC is a concern for you as it can be used either as your tips or if you really have everything totally paid for, you can cash it out in the casino. We have had non-refundable OBC and it's never been a problem for us.

Maybe I am missing something and perhaps if I haven't understood your question, you could help me understand.

I have a way of confusing things.:(

The cruise rate is the same and we have the $50 obc from our last price drop. There is now a Military rate that is the same as our rate with $25 obc...was just wondering if we would be able to get the $25...

Camper, if your $50 OBC was part of the offer, and not from price drops-like a week or so ago they had the past guest appreciation event with $10 per day OBC -then when you change your offer you will lose that part of the OBC (if it is part of the promotion). If you have price drop OBC you will not lose that.

Example -I have $70 OBC from that last promotion. The resident rate dropped $30. But no OBC. I would lose my $70 promo OBC and gain $30 price drop OBC. As that would be a loss of $40 I just let it go. :).

The military sale is $10 more than our current price, so even with the $50, we are still ahead where we are.
