Changing guest or canceling guest?

So we are booked on the Elation in December. My daughter just found out she will most likely not be able to go as she was the last one hired and too many people already asked off. Unfortunately we wont know for sure until the Sat before our cruise and we leave on a Thursday. So would I have any options, I assume if she doesn't come I won't get any of her fees back. Could I switch her out for another person at the last minute? I know there is $50 fee but would there be a problem with it being so last minute. I would be switching her out with a 16 year old (friend of younger dd) if that would matter, my daughter is 20.

Just trying to find out what to do and how long I would have to do it.

What rate did you book? Did you have insurance that covers cancel for any reason or cancel for work? Since you would be well into your penalty phase by the time you know if DD can go or not you would only get taxes and port fees as well as tips if they were pre paid.
