crzynurs Posted November 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2014 Hi all Do you know if there are taxis in Antigua that can accommodate a scooter? We are only looking to go to Valley Church beach. Dad can walk on the beach but he can't walk from the ship to where the taxis pick you up. Thanks in advance! We leave in 6 days.

If you are wanting a taxi with an accessible lift or ramp than the answer is no. If it's portable travel mobility scooter that folds such as the Luggie or a one that can easily breakdown such as one of the Pride Go Go Models that can fit into a trunk and your father can transfer in/out of vehicle than a regular should be OK. crzynurs Posted November 11, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Thank you for your response. It fits in the back of his small SUV. Guess we will see what happens.
jpcello Posted November 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Not a direct answer to your question but this may be an option. My sister and I did an excursion in Jamaica this summer. Her scooter couldn't go on the "accessible" tour bus so we simply left it with the people who were in charge of the tour at the port. We felt comfortable doing this since it was a RCL-sponsored excursion. It was there waiting for us when we returned from the tour.
