  1. Thanks for the quick reply. Will dive into my booking in the next few days and explore.
  2. This is so helpful. I just made final payment on our first Cunard sailing, which is also the British theatre at sea crossing. We’re in a PG suite and this thread is great. One question about PG with regard to wine. I know we get two bottles on embankment but what else without having to purchase a beverage package. Should we bring our own? We live in NY so getting to the port will be easy. TIA
  3. I believe this is a regular (annual) Cunard event. Can someone offer some details about what is offered - lectures, classes, join-in activities, etc. Are they interesting, fun, informative? My sister and I are both theatre lovers (she actually works in the theatre) and we're looking for something different. In the spring we did a Broadway cruise (charter group of about 40) on Regent and that was good/fun but not really what we thought it would be. I called Cunard, but they really weren't much help. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
  4. I'm going to be on the Splendor (first time on Regent) this coming Wednesday (woohoo). We're in PH 914 which is right next to the PH accessible cabin (916). Maybe I can get a peak from our neighbors. My sister also uses a scooter and walks full time with a cane. We opted to not get an accessible cabin (mainly because they only have 3 and no availability). Also we specifically chose the PH because it has a walk in shower in addition to a bathtub (tubs are hard). Stay tuned...
  5. We’re taking our first regent cruise and staying at the AKA Brickell in Miami the night before our cruise. Why do you recommend taking an Uber instead of the Regent transfer if it’s part of the the package?
  6. Our first (me and my sister) Regent cruise. Out of Miami on Splendor Feb 1. Our pre cruise hotel is called Hotel aka Brickell. Anybody?
  7. Just off oasis. Still running. Great dancers, good sets, mediocre show 🤣🤣
  8. Oasis has one too. Self service and makes a mean cappuccino
  9. We just got on Oasis. Thought everything at the port was incredibly organized. About a 25 minute cue to get to bag drop but I expect that with thousands of people checking in. Once we got the bags dropped off we were on the ship in 30 minutes.
  10. We started with a Guaranteed Suite cabin (first time doing a guaranteed cabin). We were, of course, booked into a junior suite. We put in a RoyalUp offer but never got anything so when I asked the TA what the actual cost to upgrade to a 1-bed grand suite, it was less than what our Royal Up offer was so we took it. We have Coastal Kitchen access, VOOM is included, happy hour, concierge, etc. Can't wait - we leave in 2 days!!
  11. Leaving Sunday for 7-day Bahamas cruise from NY on Oasis. Just read that Sunday night there's a total lunar eclipse: The visible part of the eclipse will begin around 10:30 p.m. ET on May 15, NASA says, when the moon enters Earth's shadow. Totality, when the moon is fully covered by our planet's shadow, follows around midnight, lasting about an hour and a half. It will end around 2 a.m. ET. We're in a grand suite, so we'll have access to Deck 17 suite sun deck - should be perfect viewing.
  12. Yes. I’m taking this test in Friday for my Sunday cruise.
  13. That's our intent on our upcoming Oasis cruise next week. I may get off in Nassau so I can get conch fritters and possibly a brief beach visit on CocoCay, but otherwise will be spending the rest of the time onboard. We did this same cruise about 5 years ago and only got off in Nassau (again for conch fritters).
  14. First time in Sky suite on Oasis. Question about drinks. I get that the lounge is open for happy hour and drinks are complementary but what about the rest of the time? We’re trying to decide if we should get the drink package partly for convenience. We drink the range - specialty coffee in the morning, drinks during the day (Bloody Mary or margarita), wine with dinner and maybe a cocktail at the casino or show. Appreciate your thoughts. Sailing in 10:days.
  15. Thanks all - we ended up getting the 1 Bed GS (the cost to upgrade was less than what we bid on Royal Up).
  16. My sister and I are seasoned cruisers but we have always cruised in handicapped accessible cabins, so we've always simply purchased the specific cabin we needed. Due to new circumstances, our upcoming cruise was booked using a Guaranteed suite (not HA). We're on the Oasis May 15th NY to the Bahamas cruise. We received the Royal up offer about a week ago before we had been assigned our cabin. We submitted a couple of offers. In the meantime, we were assigned a cabin - a Junior Suite deck 10. When I looked online there are still a lot of 1Bed suites available for sale. How does this work? It is literally last minute that they hope they sell them and then, maybe, we'll get something? Or will we be shut out? My TA suggested a bid amount - we added a little more and submitted. We really want a larger cabin. Can't wait - two weeks from today we'll be onboard!! TIA
