well they closed a lot of the bars down early and not much activites goin on don't get me wrong I still had a greattime

So just to be clear......you had a great time, but it sucked? Not sure I understand. I'm on BOS Dec 15 and am curious to know what made it suck other than the bars closing early and not much activities. What constituted "early"?

I just don't want to get unnecessarily nervous about having a bad time.

We just did the 13 night repo from Boston, had a great time and found most things pretty good. Food was excellent in the dinning room always fast and always hot, we were in mytime. Had some issues with our cabin and stuart wasnt the greatest but did a pretty good job once we addressed our issues.

We had seen quite a bit of the intertainment previously on other RCCL ships but it was still quite good, we sail a lot so not unusual to get repeats in the caribbean.

There were many Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinicle members on board.

I hope you have a great sailing.

We cruise on Brilliance twice a year, and other than the pool bars (which close when the pool deck empties out but reopens when the party moves up there later in the evening) I've never had any difficulty finding an open bar. There's always something going on in the Centrum (the aerial act is amazing), the nightclub is usually busy, there are shows in the theatre, and there's always a crowd in the casino. What type of entertainment/activity was the OP expecting?

I just returned from the repo cruise on the Brilliance-13 days from Boston to Tampa. We had a great cabin steward, wonderful waiters in MDR (Alejandro and Wajdi),enjoyed most meals in MDR -esp.all seafood dishes, always found something good in Windjammer (but was not very happy with the size of the buffet and limited selection).Nightly entertainment I consider very good with a fantastic Cruise director Clo,and cannot say much about bars as I almost don't drink, and a glass of wine with dinner was just sufficient for me.

Definitely one of my very good cruises!

we went on brilliance nov 8 anyone not happy with not much entertainment on this cruise? plus cabin steward sucked

Thanks for the heads up. I'm suppose to sail in 9 days on the Brilliance. I'm going to call Royal in the morning and cancel the cruise. I'd rather lose the money now then go and have a sucky cruise. :(

Wow!!! Just like that one post changes it all. I am still waiting for more reasons to cancel (not likely to happen). 1 out of thousands of passengers with a (subjectively) bad experience surely doesn't mean the cruise is a bust.

I'd like to think this was either meant in jest or is sarcasm directed at the OP. If not.............SMH.

We were just on the Brilliance for the Boston - Tampa repositioning cruise and had a great time! The food was good and the entertainment varied - all different kinds of performances to cater to different tastes. The venue artists were especially noteworthy. We never had a hard time finding a bar open, but we weren't night owls, so I don't know when they closed. Our waiters and room attendant were fine. After a bad experience on another ship, we fell in love with cruising again on the Brilliance. Please don't let one negative comment make anyone worry or think about cancelling your cruise!

We are sailing on the Brilliance Jan 17th and cannot wait!! First time on this ship and first time out of Tampa.

We have sailed on all sizes of ships both on Carnival and RCCI, so we know each one is unique in it's own way.

We have never had a bad cruise......even the Hurricane Sandy tour.....

Happy Sailing Everyone!!!

The entire trip was overall good. There was not much activities on this ship as others I have been. Seemed to be a lot of dead time with nothing going on at times anywhere on the ship. Sorry, yes that does create a boring time, but never fail just wait a couple of hours and then something will start in a couple of hours and last for a hour. most ships there are activities happening all over the ship. Yes, pool bar closing down every night at 7 or 8 pm was not good. The first night and the last night seemed to be the only nights where things were happening and nothing during the day time on the pool deck except the last day, again not good. My other 9 sailings with RCCL activities where great but not this time. I still would Recommend RCCL. By the way there was a lot of complaints on the cruise concerning lack of activities.

Two sea days, two port days. Activities on port days are usually minimal, since everyone's off the ship. Depending on weather, activities on sea days on that ship tend to be scattered throughout the day and throughout the ship, so it is easy to miss them. From our experience, there are two types of passengers on short cruises - people who like to veg out and decompress, and people who like to party hardy all day. IMO, Brilliance is designed more to cater to the first type than the second.

I was on Brilliance last April and had a great time. Steve was the CD then, and now has transferred to Vision. He is so full of energy and had Vision rocking last September. I really enjoyed Brilliance so much; I have her booked for 2016. I am really wishing I could afford something for 2015 on her. I really like the Radiance class. I thought there was enough going. Shows of some sort every night; theme events in the centrum, and then moving to Viking. Movies in both places, or since it is football season; games on the big screen, and I am sure down in the pub. on some of the tv's and casino. Vision had a Kenny Chesney concert 1 night in Sept. I know I really like my attendant Thomas on BOS, and missed him on Vision. Hoping for a great one on Liberty in March. My Vision attendant was great, but a clear language barrier.

The electronic boards have the compass programmed in along with menu's and they are all over the ship to help you keep track of stuff. Don't forget to check out the art.

Enjoy your cruises.

don't get me wrong the ship was beautiful

but the other ships I been on like when I was on en leaving Bahamas there was a party out by the pool on brilliance there was never a party by the pool

Enchantment's Bahamas cruises compete with directly with Carnival's Bahamas cruises, and those are the epitome of booze cruises.

I am taking this cruise on Jan 22, and now wondering what i should expect. While I don't expect a booze cruise, I do like some activites, some fun around the pool and I like to enjoy the evenings with drinks and dancing till late.

My previous 4 cruises have been the Bahamas cruises, so it sounds like this maybe a change of pace for me on this one?!

The ship does look nice, and seems to fill quickly and much more expensive than the Bahamas cruises, so hoping its still an enjoyable time.

I have not been on since her return to Tampa. But I talked to a couple friends yesterday that had just went on the Brilliance and they weren't very thrilled. This couple is typically not negative about the ships, but they said the food was probably the worst of any RCI ship they have been on. They also did say the entertainment was lacking. They aren't big show people, but they enjoy live music. The Schooner piano music was bad and the Centrum had a violin trio that would play. Nothing very up beat.

If this is true, I am a little bummed. I have enjoyed the music in the Centrum while sailing the Enchantment. They are so talented and people can dance. I was hoping for something similar. :)
