pinkie1 Posted November 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2014 A few years ago while on a RCI cruise, I bought a deposit for a future cruise. The certificate says it never expires and if I book a balcony I get $100 on board credit. Well I want to use it now for a cruise next year but I'm not 100% certain I can go. So my question is, can I use this deposit and if I have to cancel (well before final payment is due) get my deposit AND the on board credit back for another time? I've never booked a cruise through a pre-paid deposit voucher.

What you have is commonly called a Next Cruise Certificate, or NCC. You can still use it, it does not expire. If you assign it to a cruise, and cancel the cruise, you lose the OBC and probably the deposit too. However, instead of cancelling, you can change it to a future cruise (more than once if necessary) in order to keep the OBC and deposit.
