Train--Messina to Taormina?

When we docked in Messina, I tried to look for the train station and couldn't find it. It took 45mins-1 hr by bus (no traffic) to Taormina. It's a hilltop town and I didn't see a train station in Taormina itself. Take the ship's tour. After you leave the hwy, you go up and up a long road that winds up. Then the bus leaves you off where you take an elevator to the town....
