idjaffe Posted December 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2014 We will be in port from 2-10 on XMASS eve. Family of 4 (Mom, Dad - twin 13yr olds) Was thinking beach for a few hours, then back to the ship to change/dinner then a walk through town. Does this work? Recommendation on nice beach? We are open to other recommendations if you have one.....please advise. THANKS!
Isa65 Posted December 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2014 This is probably the best option for you on this day. Most shops only open half day, so heading to the beach is probably the best thing to do. Because your twins are younger, I think Seaquarium beach might be more fun for them. idjaffe Posted December 12, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Thanks for the info - how about a sail or snorkel...anyone you can recommend?
Isa65 Posted December 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Seaquarium is not great for snorkeling. For that, you need to go to the Western beaches which are far away (and not recommended with your port hours). You can snorkel at Blue Bay, which is fairly close to the cruise port, but it's a little "quiet" for 13-yr olds. Not much else to do but snorkel and swim. There are sunset cruises, but as a local I'm not allowed to recommend any vendor on this board. :-(
idjaffe Posted December 17, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted December 17, 2014 While you can't recommend, can you tell us where in port we can find these cruises?
sail7seas Posted December 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2014 I would verify about taxi before having a taxi drop off at the beach. Seeing it is Christmas Eve, be sure you won't have trouble getting a taxi back to the ship.
Isa65 Posted December 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2014 While you can't recommend, can you tell us where in port we can find these cruises? If you're on FB, you can find many answers (also ask questions) on the page: Curacao - Cruise port of call
