gregorykicks Posted December 17, 2014 Author #26 Share Posted December 17, 2014 I don't remember a special, but I will check my papers when I get home (if I remember). Didn't see anything when I looked back through all the inserts from the daily compasses.
cew2 Posted December 26, 2014 #27 Share Posted December 26, 2014 I was just wondering we are going in February and looking at your compasses do they do a main dinning room dinner the first night? we have never gone on a cruise that departs late and I did not see the times on the compass for a dinner option. Thanks in advance!

waterbugohio Posted January 5, 2015 #31 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this. I know I will have some questions, but need to read thru everything first. I am also sharing this thread with our roll call group. We have done the southern route 3 times already, but always on the Serenade. So the Adventure will be new to us. Also have been a couple years for some of the ports, so really looking forward to going back to some of them. One question I have for you or anyone. Can my time dining be scheduled ahead of time?? Nothing on my reservation yet, didn't know if it was to early (cruise in March) or if not available till onboard. We are traveling with a group of 7 family members (some elderly) so I am trying to get everything scheduled. Did you do My Time? When did you eat the first night?? After sailaway is to late for us, but worried if they push the dining times back because of muster, that we may not be done in time. Really don't want to miss sailaway. Love leaving in the dark past the forts. Will check back in after I read thru everything. Thanks again.
rose102798 Posted January 5, 2015 #32 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Was there a "Glow Party" or an "80's" party or anything like that?
waterbugohio Posted January 5, 2015 #33 Share Posted January 5, 2015 OK, got them read thru. Here is my first set of questions: I see every morning they list "8:00 arrival, 8:30 - 9:30 expect the gangway to be busy". Can you give me your input on this?? In most cruise, most ports, you normally get in ahead of schedule. When did you normally get the clearance to start leaving the ship. I think a couple of our tours list to met at 9:00AM. I know they will know if we are running late and will wait for us. Just want to make sure we are finished with breakfast and ready to go. We have never had a wait to leave the ship (other than tender ports) Wanted to make sure this was the same with Adventure??? Did you do a meet and Mingle?? what day and time?? What was your average meal time?? If you did My Time, did you find it was a little quicker?? Don't mind 1 1/2 hour, but 2 hours starts to get really long. Trying to decide on reservation times and be able to get to shows. Thanks for your help
Clarea Posted January 5, 2015 #34 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Was there a "Glow Party" or an "80's" party or anything like that? One night will be the 70's dance party on the Royal Promenade.

If you go right after muster you should have time to eat and make it back. Our muster was over just after six, and sail away isn't until around 8:30. Another option would be to take advantage of the discount for pre-booking Giovanni's Table for Sunday night. We got a 20% discount. It was excellent food and service and you wouldn't have to fight the crowds for a seat at the main dining room right after muster. I'm sure if you told them you wanted to be out by 8 or so to make sail away they would accommodate you. Was there a "Glow Party" or an "80's" party or anything like that? Day 5 there was a glow party! They started selling the glow stuff the night before because people were using them for the 60's-70's party.

Trying to decide on reservation times and be able to get to shows. Thanks for your help We never had an issue with getting off the boat. Ten minute wait tops. We had early morning tours almost every day. We did almost miss our one tour but that was because they had everyone meet in the theater and walk off the boat together. They didn't hang around on the pier long after getting off the boat. So check if you have early morning excursions. They might meet in the theater. We did a meet and mingle on Monday. I believe it was around 11:30. It was in Jester's dance club. We had a big group and they had drinks and prize drawings. We had a table for six with only four ever showing up and the early dining. We were never longer than 90 minutes unless we stayed around chatting. We never felt rushed getting to shows. One nice thing about the Adventure being a bit older and smaller is that it really only takes 5-10 minutes to get anywhere on the ship. We cut through the casino to get from dinner to the theater and would usually grab a drink in the Schooner bar on the way. We were always able to get the same seats close to the stage. It really doesn't fill up until ten minutes prior to the show.

I was able to make reservations at 7:00 PM almost every night. The first day we showed up ended up with the worst table we ever had. The staff was great but the location was poor. When we asked for another table we were given a 6:30PM dining time for every night. We ate the first night in Giovanni's, and made it on time for the sail away. If you are planning to eat in Giovanni's at any time, the first night is a good idea. :)

Suzyrn89 Posted January 27, 2015 #48 Share Posted January 27, 2015 We bought two bottles on the boat and two bottles on islands. They were in our room after dinner the last night. Was it wine or liquor? We are trying to figure out what types of wine are available, we have bought the packages before and found many times the actual available wines didnt match what were listed as part of the package. We know they have stopped doing the wine packages so we are trying to decide what is best for us.

I'm not sure if you bought wine while in port if they would let you keep it.

They will only let you keep wine that you bring on embarkation day.
