I've tried to book a couple of different catamaran cruises but both told me they are not operating on Christmas day (not surprised), but what will be open then?

You might consider booking an excursion through the ship. If the ship has something you think you might enjoy and are taking bookings on it for Christmas Day, it's a good option. :D

There is very little if anything opened on Christmas Day in Barbados.

 

The whole island is pretty much closed and people spend quality time with their families.

 

Like LuLu said...if the ship is offering an excursion go for it because it maybe the only way you get to experience any of the tourist attractions on Christmas Day.

It depends on what you are looking for? If you' want a nice, quiet, relaxing day on the beach then go for it. Beyond that there will not be much other activity on the beach that day except maybe from the guest of the nearby Accra Beach Hotel.
